Road Safety Program
Road Safety Week was observed by PARDA in all the five blocks of the district from date-01.01.2011 to date- 07.01.2011 with the support of Regional Transport Office, Nuapada. The program was a great success with popular involvement and administrative support drawing unprecedented response from the people involved.

Day One (01.01.2011)-
Boards, hoards and posters were displayed by the PARDA volunteers at conspicuous places at Nuapada, Khariar Road, Komna and Khariar; important places by the side of NH-353. This district wide activity was carried out by Loknath Majhi, Bedram Sahu and Bharsing Majhi through out the day.
Day Two (02.01.2011)
The Road Safety campaign started from office of the RTO, flagged off by Mr.Sambit Kumar, RTO Nuapada. A vehicle (commander-jeep) with loud speaker started its campaign from Nuapada to move throughout the district to cover all the Block/NAC headquarters along with all the important GPs like Kurumpuri, Tarbod, Uddyan bandh, Komna, Pendraban, Sanmaheswar, Duajher, Gandabaheli, Nilji, Timanpur, Khaira, Litisargi, Damjher on the way. Slogans on Road Safety were shouted and leaflets were distribute on the way.
Day Three (03.01.2011)
The Road Safety Rally at the district level was flagged off by Mr.Pradeep Ku. Hota, Honorable Collector and District Magistrate, Nuapada. The Rally involving Students of SSVM Nuapada; Govt Girls’ High School, Nuapada; Scouts Troup of National H/S Nuapada and PARDA volunteers went around the length and breadth of the town. They shouted impressive slogans on Road Safety holding placards and distributing leaflets. Simultaneously the PARDA campaign team reached Komna and brought out a rally of School students of JM High School. The rally at Komna was flagged off by Mr. S.K. Sahu, IIC Komna Police Station. The rally displayed placards, shouted slogans and distributed seaflets on Road Safety.
Day Four(04.01.2011)
On the fourth day Speech, Writing and Drawing competitions among School/College students were held in two groups; junior and senior, at meeting hall, National H/S Nuapada. Mr.M.K.Pattnaik; honourable sub-collector was the chief guest and also a member of the jury. Deputy Commissioner, (Transport) Berhampur Division; Maj.Dr.R.K.Mishra, Principal, National College, Nuapada; Mr. Sambit Kumar, RTO, Nuapada and Mr.Chintamani Panigrahi, Asst. Teacher were the members of the jury. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd among the participants in each competition as per the judgement f the jury were declared to be awarded in the closing ceremony. Simultaneously the district wide campaign team in the vehicle reached Khariar and organized a rally taking the students of Raja AT High School. It was an impressive rally across the length and breadth of the town shouting slogans, holding placards and distributing leaflets. The rally was flagged off by Mr. Sashibhusan Satpathy,DSP, Khariar from the High School campus.
Day Five (05.01.2011)
On the 4th day the district wide campaign team in the vehicle reached Sinapali and organized a campaign rally at the block headquarters. The students of Sinapali High School, other primary and secondary schools participated in the rally which was flagged off by Mr. Khetrabasi Meher, the High School Headmaster. The rally went across the whole village with slogans, placards and distributing leaflets.
Day Six(06.01.2011)
On the sixth day an impressive rally taking the students of Govt. Girls’ High School was flagged off by Mr. Rajesh Uttam Rao, SP, Nuapada from the police ground. The procession went along NH-353 shouting slogans, displaying placards with tips on road safety measures. The rally was led by Mr. Rudra Ch. Pattnaik, Chairman, PARDA. The campaign vehicle with the campaign team reached Boden and organized a rally of school children of Boden High School. Mr.Das, Headmaster, Boden High School flagged off the rally from the school campus. Then the procession went across the length and breadth of the village displaying placards, shouting slogans and distributing leaflets with tips on road safety measures.
Closing Day (07.01.2011)
On the closing day; a mass meeting was held at kalyan mandap and the drawings by the participants of the competition on 4th day were displayed at the meeting place. The members of the drivers association, vehicle owners association, merchant association, winners of the competitions held on the 4th day, and people in general were invited to the awareness meeting. Mr. Rudra Charan Pattnaik introduced the guests of the meeting.
Mr. Pradeep Ku. Hota, Honourable Collector, Nuapada graced the meeting as the chief guest. Mr. Brajakishore Majhi, ADM; and Maj. Ramchandra Mishra, Principal, National College, Nuapada adorned the dais as guests of honour. Mr. Sambit Kumar, RTO, Nuapada presided over the meeting and Mr. Rana, DSP; Nuapada delivered his valuable speech as the chief speaker. The prizes to the winners of different competitions held on the 4th day were given away by the chief guest and the guests of honour. At last the closing ceremony was held and Mr. Simanchala Gantayat, Traffic Inspector, Nuapada extended the vote of thanks. Chairman PARDA, Nuapada
