Tune into Traffic is a national campaign promoting road safety to young people (aged 11-25). It was born after the World Youth Assembly for Road Safety 2007 and was launched with the support of Channel 4's Battlefront Project.Tune into Traffic's message is clear, that young people must take responsibility upon themselves to ensure that they and their friends are safe on the road. It promotes safer behaviour and aims to change mentalities of young people on the road by creating ambassadors for road safety.
The campaign currently focusses on the dangers of new technology on the road such as MP3 players, mobile phones, hand-held devices etc. It dfoes this by using social media and viral videos along with a robust workshop that is delivered to young students in schools.
Tune into Traffic has also been represented at a host of international events presenting motivational speeches/presentations. The 7th Session of the International Festival for Road Safety Campaigns Tunisia, The 3rd European Youth Forum for Road Safety Belgium, The CSEC Youth Seminar on Road Safety Birmingham and the Prime Minister's Chain Reaction Event London to name a few. Tune into Traffic continues to create collaborations and promote road safety in the UK and on the international stage.
