"Safe Driver" Foundation is one of the most active organizations working to improve road safety in Poland. Our main aims: to improve road safety in Poland, education of children and youth communication, promoting safe driving among motorists, action to build a network of modern roads and highways.

Since 2004, the Foundation has carried out many actions with a large resonance in society,including: a nationwide program of "Orlen. Safe Roads, " action "I think sober, so I ride sober", "Safe Drive", "Police Training", "With a smile to Europe" and an international campaign “10D by Night ".

The Foundation also supports initiatives to improve road safety, such as: Action "Krzyś", "Do not be angry, you are going on Holiday", "My child is safe. " For innovative activities the Foundation has received from the European Commission prize in the "Excellence in Road Safety Awards.

On behalf of KGP CBOS asked the Poles for ways to improve safety on Polish roads. 84 percent. respondents identified as the most effective control of sobriety. Slightly less (72 percent). Respondents chose to build new roads. Interviewers also asked about how to punish drunk drivers. The penalty, which received the greatest acceptance was a financial penalty.

CBOS from 3 - 8 August 2006, conducted a nationwide random representative sample of 1010 Polish citizens aged 15 and over, omnibus survey, which - at the request of the Police Headquarters - were included questions about safety on Polish roads.

For Poles' opinions about what may have the greatest impact on the growth of road safety, the test were asked the question, which could indicate a maximum of five of the twelve proposed actions.

As many as 84% of respondents indicated control of sobriety, as an action that can have the greatest impact on the growth of road safety. Among other actions, in turn: 72% of respondents identified the construction of new roads and care for road infrastructure, 54% - speed cameras, 51% - high fines for offenses, 43% - monitoring the streets with cameras, and 40% - increasing the number of police officers traffic control
