Responsible Young Drivers

The main objective of Responsible Young Drivers (hereinafter called RYD) is to favour road safety among young drivers. The volunteers wish to make young people aware of the importance of responsible driving.

The Responsible Young Drivers Foundation started its activities in 1990. Since then, RYD has carried out more than 1.000 actions. Responsible Young Drivers is based in Brussels (Belgium) and has branches in Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

During the European Night Without Accident, we are present in 10 countries. Today, the association is : -8.000 members, of which 600 are active. -10 subdivisions. -300 yearly actions. -leading the European Youth Forum for Road Safety

The distinctive feature of the Responsible Young Drivers is its unique positioning as an association of young people extolling responsibility on the wheel, which guarantees its credibility within the target audience. RYD is managed by young people setting an example for the other ones. This dialog between youngsters is RYD's most important asset. Through the ensuing spontaneous communication, the message becomes more striking and clearly more convincing. No moralising, nor repressing speech, no "adult-giving-advice" tone… all these attitudes which frighten these young people away. We just want to change mentalities. TOGETHER, WE'LL MAKE OUR EUROPEAN ROADS SAFER...
