Portuguese Road Safety Association Prevenção Rodoviária Portuguesa (PRP) - Portuguese Road Safety Association is a non governmental and non profitable organization. PRP, recognized by the Government as a public utility institution, is essentially involved with the improvement of prevention and road traffic safety, aiming the reduction of accidents and its consequences.

 

Member of PRI Prévention Routière Internationale PRP's aim is to provide an impartial source of researched-based advice, on road safety matters to national government and organizations concerned with road safety.

PRP seeks to identify and promote effective measures on the basis of national and international research findings, good evidence and best practice, in areas that offer the greatest potential for a reduction in road accidents and casualties. Beyond technical interventions and studies PRP develop activities notably in the fields of, road safety education, teachers training, and pedagogical supports, educational projects for children and teens, license training, rehabilitation of traffic offenders, information, research and consulting.

Also organizes awareness campaigns, international and national seminars, congresses, etc, to sensitize towards problems connected with road accidents, also aiming the modification of incorrect attitudes and the adoption of adequate behavior.
