Pool of Trainers of Cyprus Youth Council
CYPRUS YOUTH COUNCIL (CYC) The Cyprus Youth Council (CYC), founded in 1996, is a non-profit organization based on volunteerism, and constitutes a union of non-governmental Youth Organizations (YNGOs).
It aims to:
- promote dialogue and cooperation among YNGOs
- offers a representative framework for the member organizations to develop initiatives implement actions, exchange information and experiences
- develop a dialogue in issues that involve youth.
The CYC is the only umbrella organization for youth organizations in Cyprus and it currently has 51 YNGOs as members (full or associated), representing them to different local, national and international forums. The Cyprus Youth Council is the first umbrella organization for youth NGOs that treats political and non-political YNGOs equally.
It also represents all ethnic and religious youth organizations of Cyprus. It is a member of various international bodies such as «United for Intercultural Action»and the «European Youth Forum». The Pool of Trainers of the CYC consists of 30 trainers mainly coming from its member organizations. They are experts in using Non Formal Education and Experiential Learning in youth work. They are able to design and implement trainings and projects related to the needs of the local community.
