As we move forward into another year of operations, we look back at 2012; another year of groundbreaking road safety activity with young people around the world. Our biggest year yet! We share with you an illustration of 2012 in pictures at YOURS!

2012 was a landmark year at YOURS with strides taken for global road safety and young people. The year began with the implementation of our CORE Group, the first ever global structure enacted to reach out to young people across the world. We are incredibly pleased to welcome our representatives from Africa, Europe, Western Pacific and North America who reach out across the world to young people and their road safety projects.

The second big action of 2012 was the launch of our first ever publication; the Youth and Road Safety Action Kit the first of its kind that has been picked up by young people all around the world and it continues to introduce young people to the global road safety crisis facing young people with steps to action. We thank our partners; Michelin, CDC and IUHPE for making this publication a reality.

In Europe, the Fourth Road Safety Day in Nicosia, Cyprus enabled the youth network in the region to continue to thrive and addressed youth and road safety issues facing NGOs in Europe.

Over in Africa, the launch of the groundbreaking Caravane Project saw thousands of young people introduced to road safety in seven U.E.M.O.A countries; Niger, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, Mali, Ivory Coast and Senegal. This 50 day event was captured and supported by YOURS and was a huge success.

In our final stop in Africa, YOURS undertook the first full programme for the Training of Facilitators in Nairobi Kenya. This two week programme educated, trained and enthused a group of local road safety champions who will advocate and train for road safety all across Kenya, the start of our training programs across the wold. We thank our sponsors; the Road Safety Fund, Tom Tom and local Kenyan partners for enabling this to happen!

We feel the gallery below depicts diversity, the energy of youth and the growing work of YOURS! We look forward to working with you all in 2013. For now, click on the link below and see 2012 in pictures. You can also view 2011 and 2010 in pictures in the links in the right column!
