YOURS at Safety 2010 World Conference

Safety 2010 is a major world conference bringing together stakeholders in the prevention of inintentional injuries and violence from around the world to debate, discuss and exchange information and experiences. The conference is being organised by the WHO Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention at the Centre for Public Health, Liverpool John Moores University.

YOURS is invited to make a keynote presentation during the safety 2010 closing plenary, on 24th September 2010. The conference programme will cover all aspects of injuries and safety including:

  1. Burns, drowning and falls
  2. Occupational safety
  3. Road safety
  4. Sport and leisure related injury
  5. Youth violence
  6. Child and elder abuse
  7. Children and older people injuries
  8. Intimate partner abuse and sexual violence
  9. Self-harm and suicide
  10. Patient safety
  11. Safe communities
  12. Consumer safety
  13. Disaster management and terrorism
  14. Surveillance/burden of injury

The conference will also examine methods of injury prevention and control including research, surveillance and evaluation.

The conference programme will include plenary presentations by invited speakers, concurrent sessions featuring presentations chosen from submitted abstracts, poster presentations and film and photography exhibitions. Interactive sessions including skills-building workshops will also be provided.
