"I think the new campaign really personalises the issue of road safety with us all.  Tragedies can happen anywhere, and to anyone. With 1.3 million people killed on the world’s road every year (a many millions more injured) we all need to get a clued up as possible and pass this onto everyone we know. We need to start campaigning and raising awareness in communities, and pushing for change at national and international levels to make the roads safer for everyone

A creative campaign like this allows young people to feel empowered and engaged in this global issue. It’s a great way of raising awareness, harnessing creativity and really gets us all to think about the impact of road safety. The prize money for a campaign is a really great incentive, and will see the competition and creative thinking behind the campaign last beyond one-off involvement"

Biography:
I have been working with and for children and young people since I was a young person myself. This has ranged from involving young people in decision-making processes in schools and youth groups, and in national and international decision-making processes and structures. I have been delivering human rights and leadership training for young people for the last 5 years, focussing on participation and creative methods, social media and film.

What I hope to see from the photo submissions:
I’m looking forward to seeing creative interpretations of the campaign, and seeing some innovative road safety practise. I’m ready to be surprised, enlightened and emotional when we judge the entries!
