'Together we can make a difference on Europes roads' - Axel Druart

Axel has extensive experience in road safety and has been involved in youth and road safety issues for nearly 10 years. He comes directly from the YOURS Task Force and brings his long term experience with him. Axel was involved in the strategic direction of YOURS from its inception and was part of the momentum behind the call for an Global NGO for Road Safety after he attended the World Youth Assembly for Road Safety 2007 representing the European Commission.

Axel has implemented a whole host of programs and projects throughout Europe in his work through Responsible Young Drivers, Belgium and also helped to found Responsible Young Drivers, The Netherlands. His projects are geared around working directly with young people in a postive peer-to-peer approach and this can be seen in the coordination of projects such as 10Dby Night and the European Night Without Accident where Axl has worked on the ground to talk to young people about road safety.

Axel is also the driving force behind the European Youth Forum for Road Safety which takes place every year in Europe and in 2011 will see the 4th Edition. He therefore has strong experience in network coordination as well as a wealth of experience in road safety.

Axel told YOURS, 'Young people in Europe can make road safety accessible and appealing and as Coordinator of the Region, I will coordinate efforts to ensure road safety activists in Europe can maximize its benefits'.
